Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMU) may be a major state
university based in 1975 in Samsun, Turkey. The university bears the name “19
May”, that marks the date once Mustafa Kendal Ataturk, founding father of the

Ondokuz Mays University was based on Apr one, 1975

1995, school of Engineering based in 1992 in accordance with law no. 3837,
school of medical specialty and college of social science and body Sciences

Ministers, Samsun lyceum of Health based in 1997 in accordance with the decree
no. 96/8655 of the Council of Ministers, Year Doğu lyceum of Sports Sciences
established in accordance with the decree no. 97/9414 of the Council of
Ministers, Termed lyceum based in 1999 by the Board of upper Education,
Çarşamba lyceum based in 2000 by the Board of upper Education, and also the
school of Law established on December, 2008 consistent to the decree no.
2008/14492 of the Council of Ministers.

Administration and organization
